Creativity is in my spirit. Art is my passion. As a
teenager, I signed up for a Jerry Stitt Watercolor Workshop one summer and learned to
paint with watercolors. I loved every minute of it. Later, I was a stay at
home mom with 3 girls and would draw and sketch as time permitted. Then
in 1996, I started working for the YMCA's School Childcare
program before and after elementary school. To make the time more
engaging, I introduced art as part of the program. and, during day
camps, I creating murals for the program. The Children loved it. On
occasion, I sketched portraits of the children while the others would
watch. Pretty soon the children would come back with their beautiful drawings
to show them off. I enjoyed every minute of it and wanted to
continue to pursue my passion. It was then that I decided it was
time to perfect my drawing and painting skills. Olympic Community
College in Bremerton provided that opportunity. While there I studied
drawing, painting, printmaking, early childhood development, design integrated media and
photo shop.
